Ambrose Lewis Hoard

Ambrose Lewis Hoard was born on April 15, 1835, in Scott County, Indiana. He was the son of Ambrose Hoard and Catherine Landon, daughter of Barbara Waldsmith and William Landon. He married Sara D. Jones, daughter of John D. Jones on December 25, 1856. To this union were born seven children. Mary Esta, Ambrose Millard, Barbara Ellen, John Carlton, William S, Oscar Louis, and my great grandfather Charles. Ambrose Lewis Hoard served in the Civil War, Indiana Volunteer Infantry, 120th Regiment, Company K. He mustered out January 8, 1866, as a Corporal. He died March 10, 1899, in Jennings County. He was a Farmer in Scott and Jennings Counties.
