William D. Hutchings

William D. Hutchings, M.D. (1825-1903) lived and practiced medicine in Madison. According to rumors, there were a number of cases of Cholera in Milton, Kentucky. They were taken to Dr. Hutchings and when a death occurred, because of the nature of the disease, the bodies were taken to Dr. Hutchings' farm near Lexington and buried there. The thirty (30) graves are marked with rough stones. The cemetery is located on the Phillip Turley farm, west of Getty Road. It is maintained by the Scott County Cemetery Commission.
