WILLIAM D. CLARK**

William D. Clark was the son of John Clark, born in Clearmount, Maryland on March 16, 1788. In 1819, when he was six months old, his family moved to Clark County, Indiana, and later in 1820 to Scott County.

In 1825 he became the first Representative of Scott County to the State Legislature, located in Corydon, Indiana.

Clark, who was a member of the Methodist Church for over forty years, died in March of 1883 at the age of 64.
