Helen Hollenbeck Marcus, 94, of Belton, MO, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2000. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Chapel, I-435 at Holmes Road.
Private burial services will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 noon-1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Marcus was born on November 10, 1905, in Kansas City, MO. She was the daughter of John G. Hollenbeck and Anna Price Hollenbeck. A lifelong resident of Kansas City and a graduate of Westport High School. She was the great-granddaughter of Edward S. Price, one of the founders of Westport. She was a Daughter of Old Westport. She was an active member of the Methodist Church in Belton, MO. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Annabell Ritchey and Naoma Jones.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen G. Turner and husband, Lionel of Leawood, KS; grandchildren, Gray Turner and wife, Jodie, Chris Turner and wife, Pam, Jean Basore and husband, Bill, all of Leawood, KS; greatgrandchildren, Matthew, Katherine, Samantha, John and Steven Turner, Allison, Tom and Tori Basore; nephew, Robert Jones of Prairie Village, KS; brother-in-law, Lionel Ritchey of Leawood, KS.
