1. My ggg grandmother was a Elizabeth (also spelt Elisabeth) Craigmile. She married a John COOPER and they at least two sons. Rev Charles D. Cooper became the Professor of Moral Philosophy in the Christian College Madras, and Francis C Cooper who was my ggg grandfather. He was christianed in Kincardine O'Neil in January 1824 and died in January 1907. He was quite a prominent figure in Aberdeen - being credited with being one of the first students of Pitman shorthand from Isaac Pitman. He transcriobed a bible into shorthand which is now held in the Aberdeen Library. Francis Cooper married a Janet Levie in Aberdeen and they had at least 7 children. One daughter married a Edmund PILKINGTON, they travelled to NZ in 1863. There they had three children but Edmund died in 1896 so his wife returned to her family in Aberdeen. The children, when grown up, all returned to Australia and NZ. Any further info on Elizabeth Craigmile and the Craigmile family. I would be very grateful. macfar@pacific.net.sg Nikki Macfarlane
