Miss Craigmyle Bride
A quiet but impressive wedding was solemnized at the Nazarene church Oct 24th when Miss Edna Craigmyle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gurnsey Craigmyle, route 5, became the bride of Mr. Clarence Mitchum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mitchum of Mobile, Alabama.
The bride was attired in a pea green suit with accessories to match. The groom was attired in his uniform. Their only attendants were Miss Ellen Davis, friend of thebride and Mr. Leonard Craigmyle, brother of the bride. The ceremony was performed by Rev. William Thompson, pastor of the Nazarene church.
Edna Mitchum
Edna Mae Mitchum, 74, of Boonville, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Southwind Healthcare in that city.
She was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Madison, the daughter of Gurnsey and Hazel Dawlton Craigmyle. She worked with her husband, the Rev. C.R. Mitchum, in his ministry in the Church of the Nazarene for 30 years, serving churches in the Southwest and Indianapolis District. The couple moved from Centerville to Boonville in 1980. The Rev. Mr. Mitchum retired in 1988 after serving the Boonville Church of the Nazarene, after which the couple continued their ministry at Governor Boon Square Apartments, where they lived. She was a member of Cornerstone Nazarene Church in Indianapolis.
Besides her husband, surviving are one daughter, Joyce Adams of Fort Branch; one son, the Rev. Bob Mitchum of Indianapolis; one brother, Leonard Craigmyle of Madison; one sister, Bessie Handlon of Connersville; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel, with burial in Plainview Memorial Cemetery near Boonville.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, and from noon until time of the service Tuesday, at the funeral home.
