Edward Hollenbeck

Edward E. Hollenbeck, 85, retired farmer of manchester, passed away Friday at the home of his son, Henry, in Marion following a brief illness.

Funeral services were Monday afternoon at the Gill funeral home, with Charles M. Simutko officiating. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery.

Mr. Hollenbeck is survived by his wife; five daughters, Twyla Hampton of Tulsa, Okla., Maybelle Smith of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Bishop (Charlotte) Phillips of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Joseph (Arnette) Johnson of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Wilbur (Margaret) Sauerbry of Greeley; seven sons, Forrest Hollenbeck, of Dallas, Tex., Wade Tucker of Coquille, Ore.; Leo and Henry Hollenbeck, both of Marion, Gordon and Howard Hollenbeck, both of Cedar Rapids, and David Hollenbeck of Chicago. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Edward Eugene Hollenbeck was born Sept. 27, 1874, at Greeley, the son of Ashley and Elizabeth Clark Hollenbeck. He attended rural school.

On May 27, 1918, he and Meda Herricks were married at Guthrie, Okla.

Mr. Hollenbeck had been a Manchester resident the past 41 years.
